Biography
Dr. Lowe studies have contributed to the understanding of several important tumor suppressor genes, including p53, APC and PTEN. Likewise, he has built numerous genetic screens and animal models that have played important roles in the identification and characterization of new drug targets, as well as in identifying vulnerabilities of cancer cells that might be susceptible to new therapies. Some of these screens and animal models have made extensive use of shRNAi libraries. More recently, Dr. Lowe has adopted the CRISPR/Cas 9 to further exploit the benefits of this technology to advance our understanding and management of cancer.
