Biography
Professor Rostami is the Senior Vice President of Research & Development and Chief Scientific Officer at Certara. His mission is to ensure that the latest scientific advances in the field of biosimulation are incorporated into all of the drug development efforts by various pharmaceutical companies. Amin is also a Professor of Systems Pharmacology at the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research (CAPKR) at the University of Manchester. He has an active program of training PhD students involving proteomics, physiologically-based pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and precision dosing within CAPKR, and numerous graduates from his team are currently active in pharmaceutical industry or academic research. Professor Rostami has authored/co-authored over 220 peer-reviewed full articles. Currently he is Co-Chair of ISoP’s International Advisory Board. Amin is a Founding Executive Editor of Pharmacometrics and Systems Pharmacology (PSP) and a current member of Editorial Board of PSP. He also serves on the editorial boards of Biopharmaceutics & Drug Disposition, Clinical Pharmacology in Drug Development, Current Drug Metabolism, Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics, Frontiers in Drug Metabolism & Transport, and Frontiers in Toxicity Prediction. He has been an invited speaker at over 170 national and international meetings and has led a number of hands-on workshops on model-based drug development. Amin received his PharmD from Tabriz Medical Sciences University in 1987 and his PhD from the University of Sheffield in 1996. He was a Research Assistant to Professor Geoff Tucker before progressing to Lecturer (1997), Senior Lecturer (2002), Reader (2005), and Professor (2008) at Sheffield. He became Chair of Systems Pharmacology at the University of Manchester, UK in 2009.
