Biography
A seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in the global analytical-instrument industry, Gerard Abraham joined Galvanic as its CEO in early 2014. Gerard is building on the company’s strong legacy of engineering prowess and applications expertise to foster a culture of operational excellence, customer focus, and continuous quality improvement. Before coming to Galvanic, Gerard was vice president of business development at FEI, a manufacturer of high-performance microscopy workflow solutions for a variety of industries – from electronics and material sciences to life sciences and natural resource markets. Previously, he was a consultant with SFW Capital Partners and division president of SYMYX, a combinatorial chemistry and materials-science company. For 18 years prior to that, he served in a series of high-profile positions at what is now Thermo Fisher Scientific, starting as general manager and operations manager of the company’s Applied Research Labs, and culminating as president of its Process Systems and Process Instruments division. Gerard has also held senior operations and engineering positions at IBM and HP. He has a bachelor’s of arts in business and general management from the Université Paris Dauphine in France, and an engineering degree in non-linear optics from the Institut d’Optique in Paris.
