Biography
Murai Toshiaki is currently working in Gifu University,Japan. His research work is on Development of new synthetic reactions leading to novel organic molecules involving main group elements such as phosphorus, sulfur, selenium, and tellurium atoms. In particular, heavier isologues of C=O and P=O groups such as C=S, C=Se, C=Te, P=S, and P=Se play key roles. For example, the combination of two new reactions of thio- and selenoamides lead to novel fluorescent azoles. Additionally, new methodology for the construction of chiral carbon atoms adjacent to phosphorus and sulfur atoms is explored. In the former case, the shape of key molecules looks like our university's logo.
