Biography
Dr. Kumar is a board-certified Anesthesiologist at Hospital for Special Surgery. Previously, she organized and was director of the regional anesthesia program at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. She completed her residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a regional anesthesia fellowship at Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Kumar has taught ultrasound-guided nerve blocks to residents, fellows, and other board-certified anesthesiologists at local and national meetings. She streamlined the regional anesthesia workflow at Johns Hopkins, creating efficiencies to decrease patient waiting time and discomfort. Dr. Kumar is currently the Anesthesia Team Leader for Operation Walk Maryland, a non-profit organization that performs free hip and knee replacements for impoverished people around the world.
