Biography

Marci A. Goolsby, MD, is an Assistant Attending Physician at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in the Women's Sports Medicine Center. She is also on faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College. A graduate of Texas A&M University Health Science Center, she completed her residency in family medicine at UCLA, Santa Monica, and remained at UCLA to complete her fellowship in sports medicine. She is board certified in Family Medicine with a subspecialty in Sports Medicine. Dr. Goolsby sees patients for a variety of musculoskeletal complaints but her main areas of clinical and research interest are stress fractures and the Female Athlete Triad, which is the related components of nutrition/exercise balance, menstrual function, and bone health. As a prior collegiate basketball player, she also has a special interest in the care of basketball players. Dr. Goolsby is the consulting team physician for the women’s professional basketball team, the New York Liberty. At UCLA, Dr. Goolsby served as a team physician for the women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, softball and baseball teams. She has also served as an event physician at marathons and triathlons.
