Biography
Daiki Kimura is currently a Research Scientist at IBM Research AI. He is researching about deep reinforcement learning for robotics, and deep learning (CNN, GAN, LSTM, ...) for computer vision. He received his B.Eng., M.Eng., and D.Eng. from Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2011, 2012, and 2015. During the period, he was also a Research Fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), and a Research Assistant at the university. And he joined Research Internships at Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) in Beijing, and Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz (FHNW, University) in Switzerland. Then he was a Research Scientist at Rakuten Institute of Technology (RIT) from 2015 to 2016. He joined IBM Research as a Research Scientist in 2016. He recieved Outstanding Paper Award at SSII 2011, Best Demonstration Award at MIRU 2012, Outstanding Young Researcher Award from SICE in 2013, and so on.
