Biography
Dirk Barten joined Intuitive Surgical in November 2016 and, in April 2017, was named the company’s first General Manager in Germany. He is responsible for leading business operations in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Eastern Europe. Prior to joining, Mr. Barten was General Manager at Schölly Fiberoptic GmbH, a long-time supplier of endoscopic imaging technology incorporated into the da Vinci Surgical System. He also served in management positions at General Electric Healthcare and Elekta Instruments. He holds a degree in Business Administration and a diploma in Medical Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Ulm.
