Biography
Shinya Toyokuni obtained MD from Kyoto University, Japan (1985), and PhD in pathology from Kyoto University (1991). He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in CDRH, Food and Drug Administration, Rockville, MD, USA during 1990-92. He was an instructor, assistant professor and associate professor in the Department of Pathology and Biology of Diseases, Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, and is now a professor in the Department of Pathology and Biological Responses, Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine since 2008.
Research Interest
His laboratory studies the association between oxidative stress and carcinogenesis, focusing on iron overload and foreign materials (asbestos, carbon nanotubes, etc.).
