Dr. Davis Adkisson

Biography

 H. Davis Adkisson joined Isto in February 2000. He holds ten issued U.S. and foreign patents on engineered cartilage technology. Prior to joining Isto, Adkisson spent nearly two decades in academic research — focusing on the degeneration and repair of cartilage and bone — at Washington University and Barnes Jewish Hospital. He has authored or co-authored 24 scientific articles and book chapters. Dr. Adkisson holds a B.S. in chemistry from the College of Charleston, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of South Carolina. He completed his postdoctoral training at Washington University, School of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology. In addition, Dr. Adkisson is the 2008 recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the College of Charleston.
