Don Merlino

Biography

Don and his brother Gary have worked together as partners for over 50 years, building one of the most respected construction companies in the Pacific Northwest. Merlino Construction and Stoneway Concrete have a long history of performing work for the City of Seattle, State of Washington and Port of Seattle, as well as, many of the largest local companies such as Boeing, Microsoft and Amazon. Some of the projects that the companies have been involved in are the Mercer Island Tunnel, Safeco and Century Link fields, the 3rd Runway Project, Tacoma Light Rail, First Hill Streetcar and many of the building projects in the downtown area. In addition to their successful operating companies, Don and his brother have built an extensive real estate portfolio in the Seattle area. Don is a Seattle native, graduating from Seattle Prep (60') and earning a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Seattle University (65'). He and his wife Joan have been married for over 50 years and have raised 3 sons while living in Seattle’s Laurelhurst neighborhood. In his free time Don enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, golfing, skiing, fly fishing and traveling. He is also the owner of Ostera LaSpiga Restaurant on Capitol Hill.
