Biography

James G. Wilders Reed has been a Managing Partner in Reed Global Consultants (RGC), LLC since September 2011. RGC is a consulting company focusing on the financial service industry. Mr. Reed also mentors start-ups in the Pacific Northwest. Currently he sits on five boards. KPI Therapeutics and Lightspeed Automotive as a board member. He is Board Chair for Pebblebee, PetHub and Minetta Brook. Most recently he formed a new investment group called SWAN Investment Group. He is the Managing Partner of SWAN which focuses on friends & family stage companies. Besides funding, SWAN also advises, assists, mentors the companies. Mr. Reed has invested in 18 startup companies as an angel investor in the past three years. Prior to his retirement Mr. Reed worked in the financial services industry for 37 years as an investment banker. He has lived in major cities around the world, such as New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and San Francisco. His last position was, Managing Executive of Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd. Global Head of Secondary Products, Board Member, April 2010 ~ June 2011; Chairman, Mizuho Securities USA, Inc. April 2010 ~ June 201, and President & CEO, Mizuho Securities USA, Inc. April 2008 ~ March 2010 Mr. Reed graduated from Sophia University in 1973. He has a BA in Political Science and Far Eastern Area Studies.
