Rafiq Ajani

Biography

Since assuming leadership for the North America Knowledge Center (NAKC) in 2009, Rafiq has helped engineer its growth from 45 people to more than 150. In the process, he has systematically created new client-service capabilities and hired experienced talent, building specialized and deep expertise. With the support and collaboration of his colleagues around the firm, he has also pioneered the development and institutionalization of numerous new knowledge and client-service research and analytic capabilities, and in 2011 he helped establish a new knowledge center in Costa Rica. Rafiq nurtures a strong culture of innovation within the Knowledge Network, building the next generation of capabilities with the help of academic partnerships with universities—including lecture series and internships at the graduate and doctoral levels—and partnerships with local technology start-ups. He is especially proud to have pioneered proprietary geospatial capabilities at the firm.  In addition to managing the day-to-day activities of NAKC, Rafiq oversees a number of client-service capabilities, in particular analytics and geographic research for the Americas, and provides guidance and oversight to practice researchers throughout the region.
