Biography

Dr. Ikuo Ihara is a Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Nagaoka University of Technology, Nagaoka, Japan, and also currently serving as a Presidential Aide of Nagaoka University of Technology. Dr. Ihara is a JSME (The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers) Fellow and currently serving as Executive and Steering Committee of the Materials and Processing (M&P) Division of JSME. He received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science from the University of Tokyo in 1996. Dr. Ihara was a Canadian Government Visiting Research Fellow at National Research Council of Canada, Montreal, Canada from 1997 to 1999. Dr. Ikuo Ihara is a Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Nagaoka University of Technology, Nagaoka, Japan, and also currently serving as a Presidential Aide of Nagaoka University of Technology. Dr. Ihara is a JSME (The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers) Fellow and currently serving as Executive and Steering Committee of the Materials and Processing (M&P) Division of JSME. Research Interest

His current research interests include NDT/NDE for materials and processing, ultrasonic measurements, advanced sensing and monitoring technologies, and quantitative materials characterization in harsh environments such as extremely high or low temperatures.
