Biography
Julia Janicki working as assos ate professor at OIST I received my M.S. in Entomology from UW-Madison, focusing on beetle taxonomy and biodiversity; specifically, I conducted a survey of the primitive weevils in Wisconsin. While taking on my project, I became interested in ways of visualizing data and took up skills in interactive mapping and front-end web development. As part of my M.S. project I created an interactive web mapping application for my survey results. I recently helped develop antmaps.org. Â
Research Interest
My interests include biodiversity, conservation, evolutionary biology, taxonomy, cartography, data visualization, and web development.
