Amy Maciver

Biography

Amy MacIver, PATH’s director of international development communications, has more than 15 years of public relations, media relations, and crisis communications experience. Previously she served as director of Communications, overseeing work in media relations and digital communications. Ms. MacIver works closely with PATH’s partner organizations—such as the World Health Organization; Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance; and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation—to raise awareness of health innovations and challenges in developing countries. Her work on crisis communications spans the spectrum of issues in global health, including vaccine hesitancy, political unrest, and public health crises in countries as diverse as India, Burkina Faso, and North Korea. Ms. MacIver began her career in public relations at DDB Seattle on the Issues & Advocacy team, where she coordinated communications campaigns for women’s reproductive rights, international family planning, and environmental issues. Before joining PATH, she served as media relations specialist at Seattle Children’s Hospital, where she produced documentaries on child health issues, developed a weekly “ask the doctor” segment on KING TV, and provided media training to Seattle’s top doctors and health care leaders. Ms. MacIver holds a BA from Michigan State University.
