Biography
With more than 25 years of IT and development experience, Reto Aerni is senior vice president of business development and is responsible for directing all marketing and sales in Europe and Asia. He has a strong biological background throughout the entire preclinical science spectrum as well as experience in developing software and taking it to commercialization. Prior to his current position, Aerni helped cofound PDS and served as technical director, heading up the development of the entire PDS product portfolio of in-life software, product presentations and sales activities across Europe and the U.S. Before coming to PDS, he was IT project manager and oversaw the GLP server farm at Novartis. Aerni also managed the migration of large volumes of legacy data during the merger between Ciba and Sandoz, where he was a system manager for almost 15 years. Aerni earned his first degree in chemistry, and subsequently earned degrees in software development and mainframe computing, network security and finally in the management of Oracle relational database management systems (RDBMS).
