Biography
After graduating from the Faculty of Economics, Kyoto University, in March 1973, Mr. Ietsugu joined Sanwa Bank (presently the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd.) in April 1973. He went to work as a board member of Toa Electric Co., Ltd. (presently Sysmex Corporation) in September 1986. He was elected as a managing director in March 1990, and senior managing director in April 1996. He was appointed president and CEO in June 1996. He has served as chairman and CEO since April 2013. He also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Kobe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Executive Board Member of the Kobe Association of Corporate Executives, President of the Kobe Trade Information Center of the Japan External Trade Organization, and President of the Hyogo Institute of Invention and Innovation.
