Biography
Nagai's specialties are creative writing—(poetry and fiction), translation, comparative modernism, modern and contemporary Japanese literature, and world poetry.
Research Interest
Nagai's current research includes translation of Hayashi Fumiko's Hourouki, tentatively titled Songs of the Wandering Years; history of irradiation in Japan; war-time Japanese poetry and poets; the Occupation of Japan; and karayuki-san.
