Biography

Graduated Phi Beta Kappa from University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1973. He then graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1976, and was recognized as a junior Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society recipient. He then completed neurosurgery residency program including chief resident position at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida in 1981. Dr. Jackson has been in neurosurgical practice in Dallas since 1982. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons since 1984. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Jackson has clinical appointments on active staff at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, courtesy staff at Baylor Regional Medical Center of Plano. Dr. Jackson is past President of the Medical Staff at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He is 2 term past Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas, and the past department chair at St. Paul Hospital. He currently sits on the Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas executive committee, medical board and Board of Trustees. Dr. Jackson is Past-President of the Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons in 1996, and Secretary in 1992 through 1995. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurosurgeons, Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons, and Texas Medical Association. Dr. Jackson’s neurosurgical interest and specialties include microsurgery of the brain and spine. He most commonly treats conditions of herniated discs in the cervical and lumbar spine, tumors of the brain and spine, pituitary tumors, Chiari malformation, and peripheral nerve surgery.
