Biography
Dr.Shouji Shimoyama graduated from University of Tokyo in 1987, and has been engaged in clinical practice of upper gastrointestinal surgery and endoscopy. He got a position of a research fellow in the Department of General Surgery, University of Ulm in Germany (1994-1996), followed by an Assistant Professor in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, University of Tokyo. He is currently a Director of Settlement Clinic in Tokyo since 2008, and a member of adjunct teaching staff of Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery, University of Tokyo. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed papers and has been an author of 3 book chapters. His research topic is esophageal and gastric oncology, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, and pharmacogenetics on the oncological point of view. He has served on the Editorial Board of several journals in the field of gastroenterology.
