Biography
Dr Atsuro Tsutsumi first joined UNU-IIGH in February 2012 as a Research Fellow for the Newly Emerging, Re-emerging and Non-Communicable Diseases. He was a former Programme Coordinator with JICA China Office in Chengdu, China where his priority task was to establish and manage mental health and psychosocial support programmes in China. Prior to his tenure with JICA, he had spent a number of years in mental-health related institutes in Japan as a researcher. Dr Atsuro Tsutsumi is no stranger to UN system as he had also served the WHO as well as UNU in the past.
