Biography
Edward Conard has served as a Director of the Company since August 1994. Mr. Conard is an independent director and investor. He was a Managing Director of Bain Capital, LLC from March 1993 to December 31, 2007. Mr. Conard was previously a Director of Wasserstein Perella and Company, an investment banking firm that specializes in mergers and acquisitions, and a Vice President of Bain & Company heading up the firm’s operations practice area.
Research Interest
Mr. Conard is the author of two top ten New York Times bestselling books: The Upside of Inequality: How Good Intentions Undermine the Middle Class (2016) and Unintended Consequences: Why Everything You’ve Been Told About the Economy Is Wrong (2012). He is a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute. He has written opinion pieces for a variety of publications including: The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Time, Foreign Affairs, National Review, Harvard Business Review, and Fortune.
