Biography
Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Al-Saidi received his B.Sc. degree in Co-operation, Banking and Management from Mustansiriyah University, Baghdad, Iraq, in 1976. He received a M.Sc. degree in Agricultural Economics from University of Baghdad in 1982, followed by a PhD degree in Economics, also from University of Baghdad, in 1997. He is currently working as an Associate Professor at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Jordan. Dr. Al-Saidi’s main field of research is economic development, in addition to food security and macroeconomic themes. More recently, he has also developed an interest in selected topics in the fields of finance, and health economics, drawn by the many interesting and important problems where economic research can help to provide more disciplined structure for policy analysis.
