Amer Al-Badarneh received the B.Sc. degree (with honors) in Computer Science from Yarmouk University, Jordan, in June 1987 and PhD degree in Computer Science from Wayne State University, Michigan, USA, in May 2000. In June 2000, he joined the Department of Computer Science, Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Jordan as an assistant professor. Since September 2003, he has been with the newly established Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) at JUST as a chairman. Currently, he is an Associate Professor since December 2009. Before joining CIS department, he was the assistant dean of Computer & Information Technology College. Currently, he is on sabbatical leave at Princess Sumaya University for Technology. His research interests are in the areas of big data management and analytics, data mining, information retrieval, natural language processing, spatial data indexing, and evolutionary computation. He has coauthored several research articles in refereed conferences and journals.
