Biography
Dr. Shahateet has been serving as an Associate Professor at Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman, Jordan, since 1992. Prior to that, from 1977 to 1991, he was the Head of the Economics Department at the Royal Scientific Society. He also served as the Head of the Industrial Economics Division, and was an economic researcher at the Royal Scientific Society. He received both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Applied Statistics from the University of Baghdad, Iraq. His PhD is in Econometrics from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom. Dr. Shahateet is the author of 28 books and working papers, 32 articles that have appeared in professional journals, and 6 papers presented at international conferences. His research interests include energy economics, the labor market, child labor, poverty, statistical analysis and research methods, regional economic cooperation, econometric modeling and large-scale data analysis.
