Biography
Dr. Shamsi Salem Bawaneh was born in Harima, Irbid, Jordan, in 1949. He is married with four children: Saif, Sanad, Muhammad, & Majd. Dr. Shamsi is an Associate Professor in Management Accounting. He earned his PhD from the University of Manchester/UK. He has vast teaching experience, having taught many different courses in the Accounting field at both undergraduate and graduate levels (instruction in Arabic & English) in different academic institutions. Dr. Shamsi has been a member of many different committees at national level and at a university level, in addition to being a member of the editorial board of many international management and business journals. Dr. Shamsi’s research interests lie in the following areas: The recent developments in the leasing market in Jordan; the effects of IT on Accounting university education; changes in business enterprises such as banks and their performance under uncertainty; Accounting information systems and recent development in Accounting thought; the development of financing options for smaller firms as "long-term financing mechanisms"; fostering entrepreneurship in higher education: A case of developing countries.
