Biography

Mrs. Tagreed Kawar holds a Master’s in Translation, English / Arabic & vice versa (Average: 3.56/4) from the University of Jordan (1999). In 1985, she earned a B.A. in English Language and Literature /Minor French (Average: Very Good), also from the University of Jordan. She completed the Jordanian General Certificate of Education in 1982 (Average: 92.1%) after spending all of her school years at the Sisters of Nazareth School, Amman. Mrs. Kawar has been working as a full-time lecturer at Princess Sumaya University for Technology since 2005. From 2000 – 2007, she served as a part-time editor for "Dirasat", Faculty of Academic Research, University of Jordan. From 2000 – 2005, she was also a part-time lecturer at the Language Center, University of Jordan, where she taught courses in "Communication Skills" (101) & (102), in addition to being a part-time lecturer in the Department of English teaching "Translation" and "Oral Skills". Mrs. Kawar worked from 2000-2003 as a full-time teacher at the Baptist School, Amman. Prior to that (1999 – 2000), she was a part-time translator at a private office in Amman, a job that entailed screen subtitling. From 1998 – 1999, Mrs. Kawar served as an English Language teacher at the Greek Orthodox School, Fuheis. Between 1997 and 1998 she worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Jordan, Faculty of Graduate Studies. The job requirements were to edit different types of texts as well as translate texts from English into Arabic and vice versa. Prior to that, (1991-1996), she taught English Language to ninth graders at the Rosary College, Shmeisani.
