Biography
Kellie Kalan holds a Bachelor in Health Science in podiatry from Queensland University of Technology and a Bachelor in Applied Science in Human Movement from the University of Queensland. Since completing her podiatry studies in 2001, she has expanded and updated her skills continuously through industry leaders such as Sports Medicine Australia and the Australian Podiatry Association. Throughout her 14 years of experience as a podiatrist, Kellie has honed her skills and knowledge from colleagues all around Australia. She has provided her services to nursing homes, hospitals and local sporting clubs. She is highly experienced in clinical podiatry having worked in the private and public sector, in addition to running her own clinic. Kellie is skilled at orthotic and footwear design and treating medial knee arthritis, ankle instability, gait rehabilitation/training and the prevention of running injuries. Kellie is also experienced in podiatry acupuncture and dry needing trigger point techniques. Kellie’s extensive experience and education has allowed her to provide expertise to podiatry students. Kellie has worked as a mentor to new graduates in the Latrobe Community Health sector. However, more recently she was employed as an educator of podiatry at Queensland University of Technology as a student clinic supervisor in the School of Clinical Science, and in the orthotic manufacturing classes. Kellie’s hobbies include walking, swimming and snow skiing. She also enjoys volunteering at her children’s sporting clubs to offer both coaching and podiatry advice!
