Biography
In 1989, Dr. Al-Sharif received his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, Scotland in the field of Ophthalmology. In 1990, he received his fellowship from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in London. After serving as an ophthalmologist in Britain for ten years, he moved to Amman, Jordan where he was appointed as a faculty member at the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital of Jordan. He was the director of training programs for ophthalmologists. He was the first surgeon to establish clinics specializing in corneal diseases In the University Hospital of Jordan. Dr. Al-Sharif published and submitted more than 100 medical researches and lectures on various eye diseases in European and American medical journals. He also authored a book on genital corneal diseases nominated for the best medical book published in Britain. Dr. Al-Sherif has received many invitations to give lectures and training courses in eye surgery and vision correction for doctors in many Middle Eastern countries. He has also been invited to be Visiting Professor of Ophthalmology at New York University and New York Eye, Nose and Ear Hospital.
