Stephen Cunningham

Biography

 Stephen Cunningham is the Practice Principal of our Penrith practice, and has been a physiotherapist for over 20 years. Steve took over Nepean Physiotherapy Centre in 1998 and has been proudly providing a fantastic personal service to the people of Penrith and surrounding areas since that time. Steve has a close association with NSW Touch Football Association and the Australian Touch Football Association and has travelled extensively both nationally and internationally with elite teams. However, Steve prides himself on treating every one of his patients with the same level of care and attention and many people have benefitted from his superior diagnostic and injury management ability. Steve works as a mentor for young physiotherapists who are motivated to develop superior diagnostic skills, and are passionate about the profession. When he is not working Steve enjoys spending time with his family, includes four young sons. He has been an elite athlete, with his athletic achievements including a five time Hawaiian Ironman finisher and a seven time Australian Ironman finisher, including a third place in 1988.  Steve has completed more marathons than he cares to remember, is a 5 time Six Foot Track finisher, has completed the North Face 100, and the Sydney OxFam Trailwalker, where his team finished in just over 13 hours.  With his team he recently won Geoquest 2017. Steve continues to compete in various sports, including most recently adventure racing. You will generally find him every Sunday, all year round enjoying an ocean swim.
