Biography
Charles Kahara Muchene has served as Independent Non-Executive Director Group Chairman of East African Breweries Limited since February 2012. He also serves on the Boards of CfC Stanbic Holdings Limited and CfC Stanbic Bank Limited, as well as on the Boards of a number of private companies. Previously, he was Non-Executive Director at East African Breweries Ltd from February 17, 2011 to February 2012. Prior to this appointment, he was Country Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Kenya, a position he served for 11 years. He was one of the Founders and Chairman of the East African Business Summit. During his professional career, he was also Member of the Disclosure Standards Committee of the Capital Markets Authority in Kenya. He is also Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya, Member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries of Kenya and Member of the Institute of Directors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi.
