Biography

Holder of PhD, Master and Bachelor degrees in Physics. I have continuously worked in JKUAT for about 20years. I am currently an Ass. Professor in the Department of Physics where I teach undergraduate and postgraduate students various units in physics. In addition, I supervise students in their final year research projects and to date I have successfully supervised more than six eight (68) undergraduates and ten (10) postgraduates students who have successfully graduated. Currently, I am supervising four (4) MSc students. I have already supervised two PhD students, and I am currently supervising two more. I have and still am servicing other departments/faculties in teaching the Physics units they require. I have served the Department as a founder Chairman for a period of five years (5) during the same period I acted as Dean, Faculty of Science on several occasions. I have also been a member of the Postgraduate Committee of the faculty. I have published many papers in the refereed journals and continue to develop relevant research in Experimental Solid State Physics. Recently, I coauthored a book entitled Physics II published by University of Nairobi Press. Another edition of Physics for undergraduates will soon be published by the same press. Polymer Physics book will soon be in Library selves, and still have two more books namely Electronics I and II in the process of publication. Once Polymer Physics book is acquired by JUKAT Bookshop it automatically becomes a university resource. I played a key role in procurement of World Bank computers and related laboratory equipment for research purposes. I am currently sourcing funds for the purchase and installation of an Extrusion machine and its accessories from National Council for Science and Technology so as to enrich and strengthen studies in solid state materials.
