Biography
Dr Mathenge was born in central Kenya where he received his primary and secondary Education. He earned his Bachelors degree from Moi University (1997) after which he worked in Baringo District for four years under T.S.C. He earned his Masters degree from Drake University (U.S.A) 2006. After his Masters degree, he taught Special Education for a total of nine years in (this was in inclusion setting, self contained and resource) U.S.A. He earned his P.H.D in Curriculum and Instruction (Special Education) from the University Of Arkansas (U.S.A) in 2015. Dr Mathenge’s research interests are in Autism, Intellectual disabilities, Landau Kleffner Syndrome (a rare disability commonly mistaken for Autism and Rett syndrome), Applied Behavior Analysis and Inclusion. He believes that all students are capable of learning if taught in their preferred learning styles. He is a strong believer in Piagetism.
