Biography
"Dr Bicky Bhangu is Vice President at Rolls-Royce Marine Services and is responsible for managing the portfolio of high-value long term service agreements for advanced innovative products and services. In his previous role he was the Chief of Electrical Power and Control Systems at Rolls-Royce and was responsible for start-up and growth, technology acquisition, strategy formulation and execution of advanced electrical systems, power electronics and electrical generators for Civil, Defence, Marine and Energy business sectors. In 2009, he was recipient of the prestigious Sir Henry Royce technical innovation award for his work on integrated power and propulsion systems and he was recognized as a global finalist at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Innovation Awards. Dr Bhangu has a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Control Systems, a PhD in Advanced Machines and Drives from the University of Sheffield and a MBA in Technology Management. Dr Bhangu is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET. He is the Vice Chair for IET Singapore Network and is a member of Aerospace Technical Advisory Panel – UK. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Division of Power Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore."
Research Interest
Power electronics, power semiconductor devices, advanced machines and drives, intelligent power converters, sensorless control of high speed generators, battery storage, battery management systems, health monitoring of power converters and health monitoring of rotating electrical machines.
