Research Interest
My research investigates innovation that is enabled by information technology investments (IT) and that is related to the creation of new IT products and services. In one line of work I investigate the causes and implications of business IT investment and use. This line of work frames business IT investment as an enabler of business process innovation. In a second line of research I have investigated suppliers of IT goods and services. Most of my research in this area has examined the interrelationships between the commercialization strategies of start-up firms and the intellectual property rights (IPR) strategies of incumbents and start-ups
