Biography
"Since July 2006, I have been an associate professor of the Chinese Department of Nanyang Technological University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences. I earned my Ph.D in Chinese Literature at the National Taiwan University in 1995 with a specialty in Chinese classical literature and art history. My background thoroughly qualifies me to teach Chinese classical and modern literature, Taiwanese literature, and Chinese ancient art. Since 1996, I have been a research grant recipient of the National Science Council of the Ministry of Education of Taiwan. My project, “Eight Views of Xiao-Xiang: Paintings and Poems in China, Japan and Koreaâ€, is a motif study on the literature and art of East Asian culture. 2004 is of particular note in my professional academic history. In this year, I obtained the two most prestigious scholarships in Taiwan: the Academia Sinica Research Award for Junior Research Investigators, and the Wu Da-You Foundation Award. Before 2004, it was unprecedented for any scholar to receive the two awards simultaneously."
