Biography
"Prof. Sonia is currently Visiting Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She has been teaching in the area of Applied Mathematics, especially Optimization, Statistics, and Managerial Mathematics for more than 12 years. She has jointly supervised a part time fellow who has successfully submitted his dissertation and is also supervising a full time fellow Student. She has a number of conference presentations and journal publications to her credit. She completed her M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics form IIT Roorkee and Ph.D. in Operations Research from IIT Delhi. She qualified GATE in the year 1999 and CSIR-UGC-NET in the year 2000. She was awarded with Ashesh Memorial Medal and G Pande Medal for her performance in M.Sc. at IIT Roorkee in the year 1999. She was also awarded with CL Chandna Award for best PhD student for the year 2000. She received the B.G. Raghavendra Memorial Award (best student paper award) at an International Conference held in Kolkata in the year 2001. She has worked at Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, India for about 12 years where she also served as Area Chair, Fellow Program in Management Chair, House Allotment Committee Chair and member of various other administrative committees."
Research Interest
Combinatorial Optimization, Network Flow Problems, Transportation and Assignment Problems, Bottleneck Optimization, Multi-Choice Programming, Multi-Objective Decision Making and Allocation Problems.
