Biography
Professor Chang Hyun Kang is a professor and thoracic surgeon working for Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) and Children’s Hospital (SNUCH). He has served as the Chief of Division of Pediatric Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery and board member in several major academic societies in Korea. He has accomplished research work on lung transplantation at Toronto General Hospital as a visiting scholar. His major interest is minimally invasive surgery in thoracic diseases. He has performed first cases of thoracoscopic lobectomy in lung cancer, minimally invasive esophagectomy in esophageal cancer, and thoracoscopic lobectomy in children in SNUH. He also performed first cases of robotic surgery in lung cancer, mediastinal tumor, and esophageal cancer in SNUH. Professor Kang is now in charge of the pediatric thoracic surgery in SNUCH, which is the largest pediatric thoracic surgery program in Korea. He is also in charge of robotic thoracic surgery program in SNUH, one of the largest thoracic robotic surgery program in Korea.
