Biography
Jong-Mo Seo received the M.D., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering from Seoul National University (SNU) School of Medicine, Seoul, Korea, in 1996, 2002, and 2005 respectively. He completed the ophthalmologic residency in 2002 and the retina fellowship in 2005 at SNU Hospital (SNUH). He served as a clinical Instructor in the department of ophthalmology, SNUH, and, since 2008, he has been an assistant professor in the department of electrical engineering at SNU School of Engineering. Also he serves as an adjunctive professor of SNU School of Medicine. His research interest is the artificial retina for the blind, neural prosthesis, visual perception mechanism, and medical information technologies. His major in the field of ophthalmology is hereditary retina disease, such as retinitis pigmentosa, Usher's syndrome and cone-rod dystrophy.
