Biography
Ie-sung Shim is Professor of Environmental Horticulture at the University of Seoul. Before joining UOS in 2004, Professor Shim served as Assistant Professor at Graduate School of Environmental Science, University of Tsukuba and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Crop Science, Rural Development Administration. He received an A. B. in Landscape Architecture from University of Seoul and his MS from Choongnam National University and Ph.D. in Applied Biochemistry from Graduate School of Agriculture, University of Tsukuba.
Research Interest
Professor Shim’s current research interests focus on the plant environmental biochemistry, with a particular emphasis on the interaction between plant and its changeable environments. He also is eager to study the future technology for plant industry such as indoor-greening, developing noble cultural system for salad vegetable and spice on the urban space to produce the local food.
