Biography

  Charles is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, with a special interest in Infertility , Minimal Access Surgery and Colposcopy . He started his specialty training at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals, Merseyside having spent his basic training in Kent and London. Charles holds a University Diploma and Fellowship degree in Advanced Minimal Access Surgery awarded by the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons and endorsed by the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). Charles performs regularly total laparoscopic hysterectomies and advanced laparoscopic surgery for ovarian cysts , adhesiolysis , excision of endometriosis and surgical management of ectopic pregnancies. He works in collaboration with a team of Colorectal and Urology consultants when extensive surgery for endometriosis or adhesiolysis is required. Charles is an accredited Colposcopist (BSCCP) and has special interest in management of Vulvar diseases in liaison with a consultant Dermatologist in the trust. He has wide experience in management of menstrual disorders, early pregnancy problems ,PCOS and pelvic and vulvar pain. He is a specialist in Gynaecological Ultrasound holding a PGC from Cardiff University and also certified by the British Fertility Society. Charles is a keen trainer of speciality trainees and participate in regional Laparoscopy training courses and involved in teaching and examination of medical students from the University of Manchester.
