Adrian Mallia

Biography

 Adrian Mallia is a chartered environmentalist, chartered biologist, and Managing Director of Adi Associates Environmental Consultants Ltd. He has over 25 years experience in environmental matters, including environmental planning and management. He has in-depth knowledge of Environmental Assessment, having also been in charge of the local EIA process for seven years; he is also a Registered EIA Practitioner with the IEMA (UK). Adrian has extensive experience in project management and was previously head of the former Environmental Management Unit of the Malta Planning Authority for six years, with responsibility for urban conservation, archaeology, coastal and countryside planning, EIA, environmental education, heritage protection, environmental surveys, and environmental monitoring. He was also part of the Planning Authority’s senior management team for over six years and a member of the Structure Plan Core Group for two years. Plans that he has been involved in include the Waste Management Subject Plan and the Minerals Subject Plan, the Coastal Strategy Topic Paper, the Rural Strategy Topic Paper, and the Posidonia survey.
