Born in 1953. Graduated from the University of Latvia, Faculty of Chemistry and OSI has been working since August 1977, where he is currently a leading researcher. Doctor of Chemistry, trained at the Central Institute of Organic Chemistry in Berlin (Germany) and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, USA. The main research areas are related to prostaglandin chemistry, anti-cancer drug studies (histone deacetylase, nicotinamide phospho-inhibosyltransferase inhibitors) and metabolic syndrome-inducing factors (cardiovascular disease, dyslipidaemia) with BBOx inhibitor and hydroxycarboxylic acid receptor (HCA1, HCA2, HCA3) agonist help.
