Biography
I. Stonāns was born in 1961 in Riga. In 1985, he graduated from the Pirogov 2nd Moscow Medical Institute (Russia) with a diploma in physiology and biophysics, and in 1989, after defending his doctorate in the field of immunology, he obtained the degree of doctor of medical sciences (Dr.med.).
