Biography

"Dr. Fares Zaitoun is an American Trained and Board Certified Allergy/Immunology Specialist. After his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, he received his Allergy/Immunology fellowship training at the Medical College of Georgia. For the past 12 years, Dr. Zaitoun has been practicing Allergy/Immunology in a private-based academic setting in Lebanon as the Director of the Allergy, Asthma & Immunology Center and a Faculty Associate at the American University Hospital in Beirut. He is also a Visiting Consultant at the Advanced Cure Diagnostic Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Dr Zaitoun is a Past President of the Lebanese Society of Allergy & Immunology and the Founder and Chairman of the Lebanese National Aerobiology Project. Dr Zaitoun is a fellow of the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI), a board member of its International Committee and the 2011 recipient of the ACAAI International Distinguished Fellow Award. Furthermore, Dr Zaitoun is an active member of the World Allergy Organization (WAO), a member of its Web Editorial Board and Communications Council Committees and the Co-Chairman of the WAO Aeroallergen Committee. Dr. Zaitoun has organized and chaired several national and regional Allergy/Immunology Congresses and is a frequent invited speaker. He has published several abstracts and full articles. Current research interests include Allergen Immunotherapy, Anaphylaxis, Aerobiology and Indoor Environmental Allergy & Pollution. "
