Dr. Robert Maroun Eid

Biography

Dr. Robert Maroun Eid has been the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Arab National Bank since December 2006 and also has been its Executive Director since January 1, 2006. Dr. Eid is international financial and economic expertise, with several years of regional and international banking experience. He serves as a Member of The Board of Directors of Arab National Investment Company – the Kingdom and a Member of The Board of Directors of the Saudi Home Loans - the Kingdom. Prior to that, he worked with the National Bank of Kuwait for more than 22 years, where he was based in London, UK and served as the Head of the bank’s International Network of foreign branches and subsidiaries. Over several periods, he served as the Deputy Chairman of The Board of Directors of the National Bank of Kuwait, Lebanon and as a Member of The Board of Directors of the International Bank of Qatar, Qatar. He serves as a Director of MetLife, American International Group and Arab National Bank Cooperative Insurance Company. Furthermore, he served as a Member of The Board of Directors of the Arab Bankers Association in London, United Kingdom from 1997 to 2003. Dr. Eid obtained a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut in 1975, a Master's Degree in Economics from the American University in Beirut in 1977 and a Ph.D. in Banking and Finance from the Sorbonne University in Paris, France in 1982.
