Biography
Dr. El-Abed, Chair and Associate Professor at Rafik Hariri University, College of Science & Information Systems. He obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Caen Lower Normandy, France. Ever since 2008, he’s been teaching different courses in Computer Science at the School of Engineering of Caen-France (2008 - 2012) and Rafik Hariri University-Lebanon (2012 till present). The taught courses covered a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to: Introduction to algorithms, C programming language, Data structure and advanced algorithms, Operating Systems and Networks, Object Oriented Programming in C++ and JAVA, Database (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models), Web Design, Software Engineering, Machine Learning and Data mining (classification algorithms and genetic algorithms).
Research Interest
His main research interests are Machine Learning, Image Processing and Computer Security (i.e., Biometric-based Authentication and Information Technology Security Audit). Dr. El-Abed has more than 30 publications in different International Conferences such as IEEE International Conference on Biometrics (ICB), as well as International Journals such as ELSEVIER International Journal on Future Generation Computer Systems.
