Professor) Professional experience 2013 – up to date, Associated professor at Biology and Childhood Studies departments, also a senior researcher at Nature Research Institute of Faculty of Science and Technology; 2006 - 2013, Lecturer, later Docent of Department of Biology,Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences (formerly Vilnius Pedagogical University); 2001–2005, Assistant, Department of Zoology,VilniusPedagogical University; 1996–2005, Junior Scientific Researcher, Laboratory of Biological Diversity and Technologies, Faculty of Natural Sciences,VilniusPedagogical University.

Research Interest

  1) Global diversity and taxonomy of leaf-ming insects, belonging to Nepticuloidae (Nepticulidae) and Tischerioidea (Tischeriidae): descriptions of new taxa, research on biology (host-plant/trophic relationships), etc. Most of these projects relate to the Neotropical fauna (Central and South America). 2) Distribution and fauna of Lithuanian nepticuloids and tischerioids.
