Biography
President of High-Tech sciences and industry valley “Santara”, Chairman of the Board of biotech company “Biotechpharma” Prof. Vladas Algirdas Bumelis, Ph.D., Dr.Habil. has served many years in global companies like Sicor SPA, Sicor Inc. and Teva Pharmaceuticals in different senior management positions. Has served as Chairman of the Board for biotech companies Biofa and Biotechna till 1999. Served as General Manager of Sicor Biotech (member of Teva Pharmaceuticals) till 2012. Served as a Chairman of the Board and General Manager of Institute of Applied Enzymology in Lithuania. In 2004 prof. Vladas Algirdas Bumelis received science Award of Lithuania in recognition of his achievements in science and technology in developing and producing of recombinant proteins. Received his Master degree from Vilnius University in 1971 in Chemistry, in 1975 his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Vilnius University and his Ph.D. in Biotechnology in 1989.
